The West Seattle Hi-Yu Community Festival has been enjoyed by our residents and others in and around the greater Seattle area for over 75 years. We continue to promote our community at 8 regional parades with our float and Junior and Senior Courts.

The Summer Festival advertises and coordinates affordable entertainment by local service clubs and others, which is designed for children, teens and adults.  Events, such as the Pirates Landing on Alki, Concert in the Park, and the American Legion Parade, provide wonderful summertime fun.

Our community is the last in Seattle to build a float and participate in area parades.  Not only does this promote West Seattle throughout the region, but brings floats from other communities to our parade.

We also run a Scholarship Program.  Three outstanding young women earn a place on the Senior Court and are given an academic scholarship based on their community service, essay writing, speaking abilities, academic record, talent presentation and participation in the program.  Together with the Junior Court, they represent West Seattle at many of the community festivals throughout Western Washington and support community service projects year round.  The following summer the queen represents West Seattle in the Miss Seafair Scholarship Program.

West Seattle Hi-Yu is run entirely by volunteers.  We work on fundraisers throughout the year to help supplement the program.  Two of our main events are the Annual Gala and our annual sale of Christmas Ornaments, made by local glass artists.

Over the years the support we have received from the business community has been the basis that has allowed our organization to continue pursuing its goals.  We hope that all businesses in the area will see the benefit of West Seattle Hi-Yu and will consider participating at one of the sponsorship levels.  Thank you so much for your consideration and we look forward to hearing from you by June 1st.
