Hi-Yu at Pirate's Landing

The pirates were able to land successfully in West Seattle Saturday, July 7th, and Hi-Yu was well in attendance. Both the Junior and Senior Court were on the beach to escort the Pirates to land, and many Hi-Yu members were around to hand out festival books, sell water, and answer questions. Kids were also given pirate rings and tattoos!

Big thanks to West Coast Entertainment, Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes, and Mars Hill Church for helping make the day a success!

A story from Senior Court Queen Kayli about the day:
"My day at the pirates landing was very enjoyable. It was so fun to celebrate the pirates landing as Miss West Seattle Hi-Yu. As princess Elena and myself were walking around before the pirates had landed I was pleased with the number of people present to see the seafair pirates on such a beautiful sunny day. Just before the pirates had landed the two courts met up with miss seafair to greet the pirates when they came in a few minutes. Miss seafair and I had a great time getting to meet each other and talking about what to expect when the pirates landed. When the pirates did finally land it was funny to meet them all and I even got escorted through the crowd by one of the pirates!  Once the pirates had taken over the city, the hi-yu courts boarded the moby duck, where we got to meet more pirates and throw pirate necklaces into the crowd. My day at the pirates landing was so much fun and I can't wait for the rest of the summer events and next year's pirate landing."
